Men’s health – prostate PSA testing

10 November 2023

PCaSO is a prostate charity entirely run by prostate cancer patients and their families for prostate cancer patients and their families. Their aim is to raise awareness of prostate cancer so that more men are diagnosed early when the chances of a cure are high.

The PCaSO are currently offering free PSA screening in our area. PSA is a protein made only by the prostate gland. Some of it leaks into your blood, but how much depends on your age and the health of your prostate. PSA tests are a simple blood test that checks prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels in your blood.

The NHS have developed some information to help you decide whether you should request a PSA test Prostate cancer – Should I have a PSA test? – NHS (www.nhs.uk)
